I never denied the growth of the LDS church, But growth does not mean it is the true church or even has truth. Cancer cells inside a body grow until they take over and kill the person.
Then someone could argue and say, well if the LDS church is a false Church why does God allow it to grow? Jesus told his disaples in the parable of the wheat and tares, Let them grow togther until the end, then the tares will be destoryed.
Plus The Bible tells us, woles will come in to the body to destory it, and Jesus said false prophets will be around to decive. So I know you wont agree and that it fine, But if we/you want to argue growth means truth, why not follow the islam/muslim faith, they are larger than the LDS? Would this not imply they have more truth? rick b
Acutally Rick,
While you make some good points, my article was not posted as to determine if the LDS is true or not... You are precieving an argument that I did not make.
Now, I do admit that I do believe the LDS is the TRUE authorized Church of Christ. Ohter articles I have written here show my point that the LDS Church is the True Church.
This article simply put was only about the work moving forward and no one can deny this work is moving forward. You are reading into my article than I intended.
Now lets address prophets. As I pointed out to Jonathan in another article there is scripture to tell who is an evil spirit and who is not. John states: "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God. Joseph Smith also taught this principal.
The Book of Mormon mentions Christ as savior more often than the Bible. Must be of God by Johns own words unless you want to deny the Bible.

I was not reading into your article, and I understand the point you were trying to make, I just thought I would share my thoughts on the entire subject from my point of view.
I dont want to de-rail this thread as I hate it when people do that to me. But you said The Book of Mormon mentions Christ as savior more often than the Bible.
This does not prove the BoM is correct simply for this reason. Read the account in the Book of Acts about the Slave girl, she was possesed by a demon, but she was speaking the truth, even though she was speaking the truth paul still rebuked her and the demon left her.
Then if the BoM is a plagrism of the bible, (Albeit very hard to prove) Of course it will say stuff like Jesus is Lord and Christ is saviour.
Then their are something like 10 major doctrines not taught in the BoM that are believe by mormons and countless contrdictions between the Bible and the BoM. Rick b
